Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has a strong commitment to the Health and Wellbeing of its employees. They have a vacancy for an Occupational Health Consultant to continue to help to shape their approach in this important area. They are looking to recruit a full time Consultant with the potential to consider job share or part time working to work alongside the existing two substantive Consultants. The post will be mainly based at St James Hospital when working on site with options to work some sessions from home.
The Team supporting their existing Consultants includes nurses in bands 5 and 7, Occupational Therapist, sessional psychiatrist plus psychology support comprising of an EAP service access to onsite and external Counsellors and Psychologists providing assessment and treatment. The clinical team is supported by a team of secretarial and administrative staff. There is also access to an onsite well-established staff physiotherapy service.
Excellent communication and team working skills and a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential. This post will provide an opportunity to be involved in future training of specialist registrars in Occupational Medicine. The successful applicant should be on the GMC Specialist Register for Occupational Medicine or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently undertaking a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register. Applicants should have established skills in Occupational Medicine. A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is desirable.
Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.

- The challenges facing an NHS Occupational Health Service in the next 5 years.
