Job description

As part of their growth at K2 Occupational Health, they have an exciting opening for an Occupational Health Advisor. This is an in-house role for a company based in Elton. This is a 12-month - fixed term contract, with the chance for this to be extended.

The purpose of the role is to deliver a comprehensive Occupational Health Nursing Service in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice.

What you will do:

- To carry out routine health surveillance, which includes audiometry, spirometry, and HAV tiers 1 and 2.

- To carry safety-critical medicals.

- To interpret health surveillance results and advise employees and line managers on occupational-related illness prevention.

- To carry out pre-employment medical for new employees.

- To request and review medical evidence when necessary and refer to OHP as required.

- To complete consultations for management referrals and make referrals to other services within multidisciplinary teams or signposts to other agencies as required. This includes providing written reports to managers advising on individual fitness for work, rehabilitation, and phased return-to-work programmes.

- To work together with line managers and participate in weekly HR meetings.

- To provide health check services.

- To conduct health promotions such as smoking cessation and cancer awareness among employees.

- To review employees performing recuperative duties as required and advise managers to support effective management.

- To work together with the safety team to conduct regular site visits.

About you:

- Nursing and Midwifery Council Registered Nurse (Adult or Equivalent)

- Experience within an in-house OH environment would be advantageous.

- Experience in Audiometry and Spirometry.

- Case management and with proven ability to conduct face to face and telephone-based assessments.

- Ability to undertake full Health Surveillance remit, ideally with HAVS T3 qualification.
