Greater Manchester Police, Senior Occupational Health Advisor
Greater Manchester Police is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Occupational Health Advisor for its Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service (OHWS).
The purpose of the role is to provide professional leadership and clinical service direction and support to a team of OH clinicians, supporting the Head of OHWS in leading and advancing clinical practice in line with relevant guidelines, legislation and OH best practice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting delivery of a comprehensive OH clinical service.
Key aspects of the role will include:
- Leading a team of clinical staff providing advice, support and guidance to OH Advisors, OH Screening Nurses, OH Technicians and Physiotherapists.
- Responsibility for undertaking complex case management, including producing accurate associated documentation.
- Directing and supporting the practice of OH staff in sickness absence case management.
- Undertaking and supporting the practice of others in recruitment medicals, periodic and new starter fitness for task assessments, health surveillance and work place driven vaccinations.
- Proven/demonstrable skills in leadership, communication, team working and compassion, working in line with evidence-based practice.
- Computer literate with experience of using OH software service delivery systems.
- Be willing to work flexibly at different locations across the Force.
Applicants must be Registered Nurses, with current fitness to practice and identified on part 3 of the NMC Register, holding an appropriate recordable OH qualification. Knowledge and experience of OH within policing and/or the public sector is essential.
