Greater Manchester Police, Occupational Health Advisor
Greater Manchester Police is seeking to recruit experienced Occupational Health Advisors (OHA) for its Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service (OHWS).
Working under the guidance of the Senior OH Advisor, and responsible for OH Screening Nurses, the purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive OH nursing service for the Force.
Key aspects of the role will involve:
- Dealing with complex OH cases and undertaking sickness absence case management, including producing accurate associated documentation.
- Leading and managing OH Screening Nurses, providing support and advice to OH Technicians as required.
- When required undertaking recruitment, fitness for task and health surveillance activities.
- Supporting body fluid exposure risk assessments and workplace vaccinations.
- Able to demonstrate proven skills in communication, team working and compassion, working in line with evidence-based practice.
- Computer literate with experience of using OH software service delivery systems.
- Be willing to work flexibly at different locations across the Force.
Applicants must be Registered Nurses, with current fitness to practice and identified on part 3 of the NMC register, holding, or working towards, an appropriate recordable OH qualification. Knowledge and experience of OH within policing and/or the public sector is essential.
