Suicide postvention in the workplace: Supporting organisations and employees

FREE for ALL (please log in on the SOM website first).

The term suicide postvention refers to the actions taken to provide effective, sensitive support to those who might have been impacted after a death by suicide. Postvention aims to both promote recovery and prevent further adverse outcomes. This webinar provides an overview of a resource recently published by SOM, authored by Professor Gail Kinman and Professor Neil Greenberg.

The postvention resource provides evidence-based guidance and recommendations for organisations which unfortunately must respond to a colleague’s suicide or indeed the unexpected death of a colleague from other causes. The guidance draws on high quality resources from research and practice and has been developed through consultation with a wide range of experts.

The guide should be useful for occupational health practitioners, wellbeing managers, HR professionals and policy makers.  At the end of the formal presentation, there will opportunities for discussion, questions and answers.
